Mobile Business Management

Smartphones and tablets with high-speed Internet are becoming more affordable by the day, which means more and more people are using them instead of their computers. You may think you can rely on your standard business techniques to draw in mobile customers, but think again. There are a number of astute things that you can do to to get the attention of people on the move.

Use dedicated short code. The can be pricey, but they insure that you keep your brand intact. Avoid shared short codes if you are a larger company. Not only because you want people to recognize your own code, but there may be some legal consequences if the other company sharing the same code abuses the system.

Make your messages relevant. This is the most important aspect of mobile business. A text message can be very personal and it interrupts someone no matter what they are in the middle of doing. Avoid re-purposing an e-mail. Your text message should be short and very relevant to the audience whom you are sending them out to.

Track your QR codes. There are several free sites online that allow you to keep track of the amount of traffic your QR codes produce. Use this to help you determine which business tactics are working best for you and eliminate those that are not quite as effective in attracting new customers.

Keep track of a customer's buying habits, and use those results. Personalize your messages to a customer based on their actual habits and you will find that people become more interested in your business. When you take the time to make a person feel important, they will become return customers much more easily.

Stay away from caps lock, unless you are giving a call to action. Using caps lock at any other time during a message can come across as if you are yelling at someone, and no one likes to be yelled at. Stay polite and calm by only using caps lock if necessary.

Get training. Many vendors actually offer training programs on how to safely and properly run a mobile business campaign. These people will educate you on everything from how often to send out deals and messages, to the regulations you will need to follow while your program is ongoing. Take advantage of this.

Be consistent with your messaging volume. You should always let your customer know in advance how many messages you plan on sending out per week or month. When you do this, your customers know what to expect and will be waiting to hear from you. Make a good schedule and stick to it.

Even if someone subscribes to your messages, they may still want to unsubscribe for whatever reasons, so make it easy for them to do so. In every single message that you're sending out via mobile business, make sure you're including an unsubscribe link so that people can opt out if they choose.

You shouldn't underestimate the amount of potential that mobile business has. Using methods specifically designed to attract those using a mobile device should get you a great response. Keep this advice in mind as you make the move into mobile business. When mobile business is done right, the results can truly be impressive.
